Composing is a method of inquiry that demands daily practice: daily practice of perceiving how one does what one does. Composition contributes to already existing contexts and creates new ones. It allows the emergence of modes of participation, a being in the world.

 

Seeing

Relying on Martin Heidegger’s idea of phenomenological seeing, developed in the 1959 and 1969 Zollikoner seminars, I will use seeing as a way to apprehend the world, and, spoken in choreographic terms, as a means to compose.
